Your favourite movie music moments

Following this week’s Quick Read on some of my favourite musical moments in movies, we asked for some of your recommendations and had a great response on social media.

It’s an eclectic mix for sure, but definitely some great stuff to check out next time you’re looking for something musical to enjoy…

Just a quick note – most responses simply included the artists and films, rather than any specific tracks, but I’m pretty sure a quick Google or YouTube search will lead you where you need to go. You’re a smart bunch, after all.

  • Rex Manning, Empire Records
  • The Wonders, That Thing You Do
  • Barry Jive and the Uptown 5 (aka Sonic Death Monkey, aka Kathleen Turner Overdrive), High Fidelity

  • Crucial Taunt (feat. Tia Carrere), Wayne’s World
  • Conner4Real and the Style Boyz, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

  • The Commitments, The Commitments (specifically At The Dark End Of The Street)
  • Jackson Maine and Ally, A Star Is Born (specifically Shallow)
