Your favourite children’s movies it’s alright to watch without the kids

As always, there’s been a lovely response on social media to this week’s Quick Read, with some great suggestions for more family films that won’t make you wish you weren’t watching them.

Here’s a list of recommendations for the next time the weather sucks…

  • The Wizard Of Oz
  • Paddington 2
  • The Mitchells vs The Machines
  • Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists!
  • The Muppet Movie (1979)
  • The Muppets (2011)
  • How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2
  • The Iron Giant
  • E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
  • The Princess Bride
  • Horton Hears A Who
  • The Emperor’s New Groove
  • Ice Age
  • Fantasia
  • Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit
  • The Good Dinosaur
  • Shaun The Sheep Movie
  • Robin Hood (1973)
  • Moana
  • Onward
  • Fantastic Mr Fox
  • Pretty much anything by Pixar, but especially Up

The Pixar collection is pretty much a given, in fairness, but there’s a good selection of non-Disney stuff here that’s well worth your time – even if you’re not watching them with the kids!

Thanks to everyone who got involved, and feel free to send in any more suggestions in the comments or on the socials.
