Some really interesting choices for this week’s By The Decade piece, which I think contains the highest number of foreign-language films – some I’ve seen, some I haven’t but all of which sound worth seeking out.

See, told you there were loads of great suggestions here! Some stuff I’m barely aware of too, which is genuinely interesting to someone who has been reading about and watching films for a long time. There are a few here which I watched years ago and didn’t particularly care for, and hearing others suggest them as among their favourites from that decade has made me curious to revisit them.
Brilliantly, we had suggestions from a few first-time contributors too, but my thanks go out to everyone who has read and offered their recommendations on essential cinema – I don’t know when I’ll get round to watching them all, but it’s great to have a decent list to work from, and I’m grateful to you all.
That’s it for this week, and I’m going to try and get another actual Late Review done soon, but By The Decade will be back soon enough when we strut into 7 From The 70s!
