I’ll be honest, although this period was a time in my life when I was watching the most movies in cinemas and at home, I had forgotten a lot of these films – seeing people offer them up brought back a rush of nostalgia and a sudden desire to watch them again.

That being said, there are some really intriguing films on here that I’m not at all familiar with too – especially Japanese Story, Malena – and some which I’ve been meaning to get round to but never have – Waltz With Bashir, A Serious Man, Russian Ark.

That’s what I’ve really enjoyed about By The Decade – recommendations and reminders.
